Position Overview

At CJM Roofing the Sales Representative is responsible for generating new roofing business, managing client relationships, performing inspections, and closing profitable projects. This individual will represent CJM Roofing in the field, build trust with homeowners and commercial clients, and ensure that each project is sold with accuracy, professionalism, and strong margins.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Prospect and generate new leads through door-to-door canvassing, referrals, networking, and digital outreach.
  • Respond to company-provided leads and convert them into sales.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with homeowners, property managers, and commercial decision-makers.
  • Present roofing solutions clearly and confidently to potential customers.

Inspections & Estimating

  • Conduct on-site roof inspections, document conditions, and identify scope of needed repairs or replacement.
  • Take accurate measurements and assist in preparing estimates (training provided if needed).
  • Explain inspection findings and estimates to clients in an easy-to-understand manner.

Closing & Project Handoff

  • Prepare detailed proposals and contracts while ensuring accuracy and margin protection.
  • Close deals through strong communication, customer trust, and problem-solving.
  • Coordinate with production team to ensure smooth project handoff and alignment with scope and pricing.

Customer Service

  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout the sales and pre-production process.
  • Resolve issues professionally and proactively.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and support company reputation.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with sales managers, production teams, and office staff.
  • Participate in sales meetings and ongoing training.
  • Represent CJM Roofing with professionalism and honesty at all times.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales (roofing or construction preferred but not required).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to climb roofs, perform physical inspections, and work outdoors in various conditions.
  • Self-motivated with strong time-management and organizational abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Desire to learn roofing systems and industry practices (training provided).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary + commission structure.
  • Earning potential: $60,000–$150,000+ annually for strong performers.
