Company Overview

We are family-owned roofing company that provides residential and commercial roofing services in the western Chicago suburbs.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, drive organizational performance, and lead our residential roofing team with excellence. The ideal candidate is an experienced operations leader with strong knowledge of the roofing industry and a proven ability to manage people, processes, quality, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

· Oversee daily operations including scheduling, production, project management, and service calls.

· Implement and maintain systems for efficient job flow from lead intake to job completion.

· Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and warranty requirements.

· Oversee fleet management, equipment maintenance, and inventory control.

Team Management & Development

· Lead, train, and support staff including project managers, crews, office staff, and sales teams.

· Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and ensure a positive, productive work environment.

· Recruit, hire, and onboard new employees as needed.

Financial Oversight

· Manage budgets, forecasting, and job costing to ensure project profitability.

· Analyze financial reports and KPIs to drive performance improvements.

· Write and approve estimates, expenses, and vendor invoices.

Customer Experience

· Ensure a high standard of customer service from initial contact through project completion.

· Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and promptly.

· Maintain strong relationships with homeowners, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Strategic Planning & Growth

· Develop and execute business strategies that support company objectives.

· Identify opportunities for operational improvement, cost savings, and market expansion.

· Work closely with ownership to set long-term goals and performance targets.

Qualifications

· 5+ years of management experience in roofing industry.

· Strong leadership and team-building skills.

· Proficient in project management, scheduling, budgeting, and workflow systems.

· Working knowledge of residential roofing systems, materials, and installation processes.

· Experience using a CRM system

· Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

· Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

· Valid driver’s license; OSHA certification a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
